SNORA55small nucleolar RNA, H/ACA box 55
snoid : SR0000012
Length : 137
Abstract : Homo sapiens ACA55 snoRNA This H/ACA box RNA was cloned by Kiss et al. (2004) from a HeLa cell extract immunoprecipitated with an anti-GAR1 antibody. It is predicted to guide the pseudouridylation of 18S rRNA U36 (Schattner et al., 2006). The pseudouridylation of 18S U36 residue was previously reported Maden and Wakeman (1988). From human to chicken and xenopus, ACA55 resides in intron 7 of the Pabpc4 gene. In mouse and rat, a duplicated copy, ACA55-2, resides in intron 5 of this gene. A mouse-specific ACA55-2 retroposon resides in the Kif13a gene, and a rat-specific one in the orthologue of mouse RIKEN cDNA 4833423E24 gene.
