Abstract : Homo sapiens H/ACA box snoRNA HBI-100. This snoRNA is a human paralogue of the mouse MBI-100 snoRNA cloned by Hüttenhofer et al. (2001). It is predicted to guide the pseudouridylation of U6 snRNA U40. From human to opossum and chicken, HBI-100 is localized in the RFWD2 gene. A rodent-specific type 2 snoRT, HBI-100B, resides in the Wdr22 gene in mouse (MBI-100) and rat. In lizard, the most likely snoRNA ortholog resides in the ALG8 gene. In Xenopus, four HBI-100-like copies reside in the hypothetical protein LOC496549 (DDX1) gene.
