Abstract : Homo sapiens ACA12 snoRNA This H/ACA box RNA was cloned by Kiss et al. (2004) from a HeLa cell extract immunoprecipitated with an anti-GAR1 antibody. It is predicted to guide the pseudouridylation of residue U40 of the spliceosomal U6 snRNA. The pseudouridylation of this residue was previously reported by Epstein et al. (1980). In mouse and rat genomes, ACA12 sequences that reside in the expected intron of the PolA gene appear not functional. In these species, the pseudouridylation of U6snRNA U40 might be guided by HBI-100.
GenBank accession number : AJ609482
